I quite like the fact that this is a soft launch. Just put it out there, see how it's adopted, and maybe only then stick it in a keynote slide at the next WWDC. Makes a nice change for Apple.

Yeahbutnobut.... if users don't know about it, will it get used? When I message my husband via messenger and say 'see you at 10' I get a random service I never subscribed to invite me to 'make a plan'. It pisses me off every time.

Better to design the comms into the service than attempt to communicate it via the media, mind.

That's a great point & this is how Apple have tried to solve for that https://twitter.com/panzer/status/927971718181699584. I really like the way that, that highlights the functionality, without being intrusive.

It feels almost too subtle. No doubt they've tested for this. I'm not the user, etc.

I like the subtlety of it, but I agree - it's probably too subtle for most people, who are more likely to be focussed on the keyboard than the 'autosuggest' space above it. I'm surprised there isn't some animation highlighting it in some way.

Shame it’s US only for now 😞

I’m torn on this one. ♥️ ApplePay, hate stinginess.

Has anyone used it in the wild or seen a road test? @sammaule

It appears if you VPN via the US btw.
