More than 200 people from various departments in the bank worked with great dedication and care to develop the innovative Digipigi money box and its related apps.

To quote @Jason Bates "200 people??"

Whereas it took about 100 people to build Monzo & one independent developer to create a connected piggy bank in his spare time..

While I love services to teach kids about managing money and making that easier for parents, also yikes - 200?

Now wouldn't it have been cool if the physical funds in the pig could be spent using the card (with the amount secured against the parents account). So if you added 50CHF into the pig, the kids online account is credited 50CHF on the basis that the kid will eventually bank the money. The 50 CHF in the bank account is secured against the parent's account and any payment from the child's account is withdrawn against the parent account until the 50CHF is deposited, then it's paid into the parent's account if spent or confirmed in the kid's account.

Make sense? It does to me...

I’m with you on this.

I’d add: spending-type limit set by parent e.g. they can buy 5.00 worth of in-app purchases a week, as long as they’ve deposited enough in the pig.

However, needs to solve for the fact that, in my household and suspect many others, we don’t have any cash. Ever. So it needs a virtual deposit capability. Regular allowance, chores, birthday money. It wouldn’t all come from the parents’ account.

What it needs is a token..... Not a erc20 but a physical token that can be read by the piggybank instead of cash.

The parent can control the value of a token.
